Kerbed alloy wheel refurbishment questions

Hi listers,
I bought a set of 5 Audi 10 spoke alloys with Dunlop SP200
tyres at the weekend for a very reasonable price. Four of the wheels are in
first rate condition, the spare is not from the same batch as it has a
different colour of laquer and the weights are unfortunately clipped on the
outside edge of the rim. Can these be removed without damage to the laquer
coating?
It took me less than 24 hours to kerb one of the wheels. As you can imagine
I was far from happy about my careless actions. I took a right turn at a
roundabout and hit the kerbside with the side of the wheel, Naturally I
pulled the car away from the kerb as quick as I could. This wheel has all
the laquer removed on the rim at the point of impact, there is also some
minor cuts and scapes to the alloy.
My question is this - has anyone had any experience with having wheels
refurbished, is this a worthwhile thing to do. If so, can any UK listers
recommend a company that performs quality workmanship, better still, an Audi
approved refurbisher?
As usual, my thanks are flying out in advance to anyone who replies.
