I have a 1990 Audi 80 2.0 litre 4 cyl. with a little over 137,000 miles. I
checked the airfilter about a month ago, and found a thin coating of oil all
throughout the intake. I traced the problem back to the metal
crankcase-vent tube that goes from the lower part of the engine on the
drivers-side, back around and connects to the intake. The 3 inch long
rubber hose that connects the two metal tubes was melted. I replaced this
rubber hose and thouroughly cleaned out the inake and all of the metal
tubes, but oil still appears in the intake. Is there a screen or filter
that prevents oil to pass through the metal tube into the intake, or do i
have more serious problems (I screwed up engine?) Thanks for any help that
you can offer me!
