Thanks buddy. I have specked out each of my temp sensors, warming my engine
up, as it cools taking resistance readings. Flawless (Should be, they're a
month old). Measured air temp sensor resistance also. The main 4 teminal
temp sensor is new also. New throttle switch. When I redid the head I
replaced most sensors. O2 sensor among them. I always use quality parts and
german. My new fuel pressure gauge helped me track this down. I know the
Fuel Distributor *never* fails and is usually misdiagnosed. This is why the
diagnosis took me so long. I went through every system at least 5 times to
be certain. At times completely disassembling the system to be sure
everything is fastened correctly and tests could be followed out to the
letter. I went through all connections at the MAC11, Good. I've only owned
CIS Audi's and VW's and truely understand the system. I can tell you are
extremely knowledgeable about these automobiles. I'm sure I don't have your
experience, (never done an engine swap... 2.1 to 2.3, etc.) but I am getting
there and learning everyday. Thank you for your continued interest in this
thread. On Friday or Monday I will receive my new Fuel Distributor and
injectors (I wanted them anyway... why not now?). I will tell you of my
adventures then.
Sorry for the long post. I find the list to be unmeasurably valuable. At
times it is my greatest reference for repair (the truth is there if you hunt
for it).
