Actually, the idea was to offer a product of socialist industry on the
world's most demanding automotive market. Take note that even over here
(East Europe) Yugos used to have poor reputation. Renault, Peugeot, Fiat,
Rover - a well established manufacturers failed miserably on US market, how
could Yugo succeed?
