JT to Turbo Question

Nate, considering that the JT has 8.5:1 compression, it is not really that high...I had no trouble running close to 20 psi in my 8.2:1 MC2, honestly I think the JT would be a great combo with lower boost and decently high CR. I have been contacted by others who have done the same in the JT'ed 4kq, and don't forget Callaway offered a kit with close to 10psi using the JT bottom end.

<< No way, no how. The JT engine has too high a compression ratio to run much of
any boost (especially w/o knock sensing). Albeit the JT isn't _that_ high of a
CR engine, but no way would I ever run a turbo on it at all with no knock
sensing. Not to mention the wussy cam, and lack of sodium filled exhaust valves
as well... Whether the CIS system will handle it or not is the least of your
worries. You'll still have to find a place for the intercooler, intake/exhaust
plumbing(the 5kt IM is bass ackwards compared to the JT's) as well.
