Howdy fellow Audinauts,

Well, this must be the year that all the things that
I've read about over the years effecting the rest of
you and your type 44's will land on my head. I've been
too lucky too long. First it was the dragging brakes;
a new master cylinder yesterday seems to have fixed
that. I was lucky; 20% of the time it is the expensive
servo between the firewall and the master cylinder.
And then the alternator went "flakey" on me; a used
one from Chris at Force 5 seems to have fixed that.
This afternoon as I'm driving along thinkin' how great
it is to have my Audi functional again the temp.
warning light comes on. "What can this be?", thinks I.
Well, I'm 1/4 mile from my destination so I keep going
pull in, open the hood and here's my upper radiator
hose danglin' in space. I still had an inch of plastic
pipe leaving the side tank so I didn't realize it had
broken until I looked into the hose and saw another
3/4" of pipe in there. I've read about this happening
to many of you over the years, but why me!!!

So my options are glue the thing back together with a
sleeve over the break(cheap). See if Duane Hale still
has his year old Modine for sale that he advertised
earlier($100.00 +shipping) Look into these Discount
Radiator people I saw mentioned in the
archives($124.00 +shipping). Are the Modines copper or
aluminum and what is considered the "way to go" these
days?

TIA and may your weekend not be weak on either end,

Shef
