WTF? Olds Cutlass Ciera? (yes, Audi content)

So I'm driving along at a nice steady 75 mph and this guy in an
Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera decides to race me so that I cannot pass
him (he was going about 70 until this time).

Well go figure- I don't know what was under the hood of that car,
but in plain 5th gear acceleration, I could not pull away from him.
This is with a chipped 200q20v. I don't get it. It's a freaking
Cutlass Ciera! Can't have more than a 3.3L pushrod V-6 under the hood.

We were even to about 110mph (on an empty road) with me not gaining
really any ground whatsoever.

Now I'm wondering if this guy had NOS plumbed into his car or
something. I know those cars aren't that fast stock.

I'll be doing some diagnostics today to see what the heck is going on.
