Mention of computer networks reminded me of a thought I had
when I did some of my door wires last year.

My idea was to attach the jamb wires to a "D" connector bolted
to the jamb, attach the door wires to another "D" connector
bolted to the door, and tie the two together with a short,
flexible ribbon cable. When the ribbon cable breaks, unplug it
and replace it with another one.

Would a standard PC ribbon cable, with appropriate number of
wires, be able to carry the voltage and current required by
whatever lives inside an Audi door?

Someone please shoot down this idea before I attempt it.

Thanks,
Kent McLean
