ATF to quiet lifters?

how bout the old can o' coke trick ?? my boss swears
by it. ive never done it personally. actually his
wifes car would always start ticking right at the 3k
mark for oil change. changed oil and filter and car
was quiet for another 3k. i heard only the old coke
works, none of that caffine free crap !!
