The GNX was a rear-drive config i.e longitudinal engine placement.
Pretty sure that the Cutlass Ciera is a transverse V6.
The V6 Ciera was plenty quick. I would also have
been surprised if one could have hung with me in
my '91 200q20v Avant IA State 3, even in 5th.
But, I do remember having to work harder than I
anticipated along I70 in Kansas trying to dispense
with a then new V6 Malibu. Downshifting to 4th and
getting up over 120 finally did it.
