Heya guys,
I just got back from a trip so I'm not up to date on these
posts but I can answer any questions regarding this Mod.
In a nutshell, its VERY worth while. But of course, You MUST
relay the lights on any older Audi to get decent light output.
After doing this then its just a matter of swapping the ground
with one of the wires. I think the Yellow one but I cant
remember. Also, you will have to break off two of the metal
tangs inside the headlamp housing. Leave the one that is
oriented vertically to keep the 9007 bulb centered.
Now just drop in the bulb with the appropriate connector
spliced into your relays. Preferably using a Xenon or similar
bulb that puts out a whiter light. You can use Higher Wattage
bulbs as well but will melt the 9007 connectors about 2-3 times
a year.
Now aim them (if memory serves you'll have to aim them up
significantly) And what you get is a significantly improved
low beam pattern with better but still not great highs.
However, if you add some projector driving lights somewhere or
some hella 550 driving lights behind the grille then your can
help correct that.
This is Still NO comparison for Euro's but is maybe a 50/50
split between simple H4 euros and stock. Esp on low beam but as
noted Highs still need help.
