See the tire discussions on the S-car list. The reasonably priced summer
tire of choice is the Sumitomo HTRZ11. I just put them on my '92 and am
impressed with how quiet and comfortable they are. Steering response and dry
traction are excellent; wet traction is supposed to be incredible, though
I've yet to encounter rain. Highly recommend them.

I've been considering the RE730 for my 93 S4... Therefore the recent
discussion caught my attention.
I've noticed that several of you have mentioned the RE730 is noisy. Can you
elaborate? Is it noisy under normal driving conditions, or are you referring
to noisy when driven aggressively (i.e. at the track)?
Is the SP8000 less noisy in same situations?
Thanks!
