2:00 blinking on clock

My book on the '86 5kcsturbo says the 2:00 blinky is
to remind you to stop & take a 10 minute or longer
rest break (w/engine off).  Experience indicates that
shorter breaks won't reset that timer, nor would
leaving the car idle (i.e. dead of winter scenario).

A friend once borrowed the car and wondered why the
car did that.
