door wires repairs

I recently completed a similar repair on my '89 100 barge - I mean wagon!

I removed the wire harness from the door and withdrew the harness
thru the body so it was accessable inside the car. This exposed the
wire harness so I could splice in new wires. There were some 20
wires to splice. Many of them were 12/14 gauge. I soldered the
splices. The job I took about 8 hours. Used two-foot lenths of wire
so the splices would not be stressed. It was a bitch of a job but it
will last another ten years!

I had to do the same repair work on the wire harness for the rear
hatch - This was a piece of cake compared to the door?
