Hey Qlist:

I have the Elgin cam with no head work.  I lost no low end at all, and
with the complete tune-up I did around the same time, I actually had
an improvement in low end torque.  I recently had the stebro exhaust
and K&N filter put on and that has noticibly reduced my low-end
power.  Although I did the exhaust first and then the filter and there
did seem to be a marginal improvement with the filter.  There had been
a rough idle, especially when I first started the car, but the filter
seems to have fixed that.  I still have not had a chance to test all
these mods on the track (will do this week-end) to see if they really
help at higher speeds.

As for the Shrick cam, I think they were way over-priced.  The Blau
version is cheaper but I bought the Elgin cam used from a list member
and had it installed for less than the asking price of the Blau cam
alone.
