It appears to me, sometimes, that the digits 1 - 3 bear some
relationship to the model/platform # where a part first appears (or at
least digits 1 - 2).  If a different but identical purpose part turns up
later, it may very well have the same digits 4 - 9, which "describe" the
part.  But it will not be the same.  fule pump relays are a good example
of this.
