Decisions, decisions...

A clarifying question: What are the consequences of a delay in your
projected travels up and down the coast, such delay due to a failure of
some system on the car you are driving? How much flexibility do you have
to do whatever you are traveling there to do, and still get it done the way
you need to? In other words, what will happen if you get delayed for a few
days while the car gets parts and attention? Maybe even 4 days.
If you can't afford such delays, then you can't afford to drive an
unreliable car.
How you make your car (whichever) reliable enough to fit into your reason
for driving is the next step, along with a cost projection.
When you have all that on paper, you can live with it for a few days and
emerge with a feel for which choices you like best.
Be sure to include the personal factors of past dreams and present
circumstances.
And let us know where you come out. All your choices sound like they could
do the job at some level. I think setting the flexibility time window is a
good move.
