New audi + need some help with tiptronic

Raj,

I do have two cars with Tiptronic (mine and wife's daily drivers) and I
never had this problem.

Some other people had similar problems when the multi switch went bad.
I would take it back to the dealer and ask them to check it. If I'm not
mistaken this switch is $400/500!!!.

You also can perform the re-adaptation to the Tip tranny, by either using a
VAG tool or with the following procedure:

Turn the key to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine, press the
gas pedal all the way to the bottom for 20 seconds, then repeat the pedal to
the bottom once more. I've done it and works. I also think that the actual
procedure might vary in times, but this one I know to work.

The reason for the re-adaptation is that the current adaptation might be out
of sync due to the previous driver.

I particularly like the Tip tranny, I know it robs me power, but I can
pretend being in a race car with electric clutch or flip to auto any time I
want to take another byte.

Enjoy your new Audi,

Carlos.
