1990 100 fuel pump removal

How do I get the fuel pump out?  I got the retaining ring off and the top 
hoses/wire harness off and tried to lift the pump out but there was 
resistance and I did not want to force it.  Does it lift straight out?  Is it 
in some sort of mount?  Installation of new one?   Anyone have a manual they 
want to sell me?  Help!
