Mike,
You didnt say if your car is quattro or not and im not sure if that makes a
difference, but on the 200q the rear calipers have a 8mm (i think) allen or
hex key in the center of the piston. You have to turn the piston while
compressing it. Its a major pain in the ass sometimes. I would suggest
looking at the pistons on your rear calipers. If there is a slot or a hole
for a hex key in the center then turn them as you compress them. The
turning mechinism is to allow the car to adjust the emergency brakes for
wear.

Subject: C-clamp to the calipers
Hi guys
When I was working on my front calipers awhile back I was trying to get the
piston back into the caliper. A guy at an auto shop said to use a C-clamp to
push it back in. Phil Payne said that was fine for the fronts but not for
the rear calipers. What's the reason for that? The car in question is an
89-100. Sorry Phil, I can't find your email to send this to you directly.
Thanks
Mike Williams
