Ken, to answer some of your questions-

The whine from a GN or a Regal T-Type is most likely the turbo.

As for taking on Mustangs, be careful- I ran against what sounded
like a worked 302 Mustang and even though he had to shift into
5th at 90 (!), he was at least as fast if not faster than an M5,
even at those speeds. Just pulled really strongly to highly illegal
speeds.

A 4ktq, I don't know- Gary K. and some others apparently have some
very fast ones, so that should be able to surprise a whole lot of
people.
