turbo failure- non audi

Friday night, I had the opportunity to attend a track event with two
of my friends. On the trailer, we had a Lancia Delta Integrale
(please, don't ask how we got this car, I'm tired of explaining it)
For those of you that don't know, this car is a tiny, four door, all
wheel drive BEAST. It won the world rally championship several years
straight, shortly after the Audis. Anyway, it's a 2 liter 4
cylinder, with a single T3 turbo. The second time we had it out on
the track, it was really flying, when suddenly the boost gauge went
to zero. No POP! like had happened when it blew off a intake hose.
So, the car comes in, we pull the hose off of the intercooler outlet,
and it's not blowing any air. So, it looks like the turbo isn't
spinning anymore. Damn! And I hadn't even gotten to ride around the
track in it yet. At least I got a couple of photos of it before it
broke. in other, Audi-related news, I suprised yet another Mustang
driver yesterday in my 200Q. Those things may jump off the line
pretty well, but they're gutless wonders above 40 mph. The old 200
stayed right along side, even though I hit the overboost cutout a
couple of times. It won't do that anymore, I finally replaced the
collapsed hose on the wastegate today. it really must be depressing
to spend all that money on a new muscle car that can't even outrun a
12 year old sedan with half the cubic inches. I almost feel sorry
for the guy. hehehehe
