Gains to be had from cone filter on turbo cars?

Michael,

Cone filters usually make more power when mounted in a hot air free area,
and this woud imply that you make a heatshield to prevent hot air from the
exhaust manifold and turbo going onto the cone airfilter.
BTW, these can make some 5-10 hp gains in turbo cars, but this would have to
be checked on a dyno to be sure...maybe some other listers could help here
with some dyno measurements if they ever did some...

>PS the piece I got for $5 to make a cone filter work is a factory Audi
>part......

Could you tell us its P/N, please, I'd like to have one like these (even
from the dealer) if it's still available, and maybe other listers could find
it useful...

Thanks,

Mihnea

PS: What's up with the Syncro turbo-conversion pics? Are they online now?
I'm still curious to see that intake plumbing anyway...BTW, what did you do
to have the oil and water supplies for the turbo? What about the turbo
return line?

Thanks again.
