fan motor fusible link

Your fan motor has higher than normal internal
resistance. While this IS normal-to a point- it COULD
be a cause for concern. Some have reported fires from
this fan. It made me think of slot cars of my youth.
Whenever your car slowed down, you just cleaned all
the copper-pickups, armature, etc. and all was well.
Same deal internally on the fan motor. Now it takes
more amps to run and to start(especially when hot).
All electric motors can be renewed. Either by you or
an electric motor shop. Weigh that against a new
replacement-or ignore it. The fusible link or even
better a circuit breaker(also cheap) will provide
protection.
