... it so happens that I contacted the "seller" ... the car is a project in
process and would need to be boxed.
... to spill the beans ... it so happens that there actually are no less
than two free 1978 Audi Fox GTIs in California, and that is the reason why
Tom has been looking into getting a 1978 80 parts car in Europe. We should
actually be able to get the one in my driveway to move under its own power
... then to be fully restored in Europe. I wish I could give him the vanity
plates I had on it to go with it ... ACHTZIG. I'll bet a few more folks in
Europe would get it than did here in California. I did have one guy come up
to me who knew that it did not mean it was a 1980 model ...
I must admit that I am suffering a bit from the madness myself ... I may
just see if I can do something with the car in Sacramento! Due to the fact
that the registration has lapsed on my car it would cost far too much to get
it legally back on the road here ...

1978 Audi Fox GTI ... you can see it in the Audifans registry if you're
interested ...
... OBTW, I'm sure Tom would take those donations to help get any
parts/shipping to get this car back to Holland though too!
