Hi Steve,

What if the engine is the correct year (later than car) but came from a 49 
state car?  The car was registered in California but was originally from 
Chicago.  The way I read the regs is that you *cannot* put a non-California 
engine into a California car (except for engines imported from Japan which 
I think are specifically exempted).   That severely limits my options on 
what I can do with my spare MC engine.  3 out of my 5 cars are from 
California (which I used to think was a desirable factor).
