Part compatibility

Hi listers,

I have a question relative to part compatibility: 

Example: rear caliper from a 90Q (1993) and an A4Q (1996-1999)

part is 8A0 615 423 and 8D0 615 423. Should I expect that both parts are interchangeable and the A and D represent version of the part.

In addition, carriers, pad and disc are the same number ?
