4KS Starting Problems

Most likely problem is a vacuum leak. The car runs for 30 seconds or so
cause the "choke" is on. After about 30 seconds, the "choke" gets turned
off, and the lean mixture wont support combustion.
On a 4 cylinder engine, the "choke" is the 5th injector located in intake
manifold. On a 5 cylinder engine, I think the "choke" is the computer
telling injectors to add more gas.
At any rate, the problem on my old 85 4cyl 4k was cracks in the boot
which connects the fuel injection box to the intake manifold. The boot
starts cracking from age, and/or from movement caused by engine torquing. My
cracks were on the bottom of the boot, in-between the boot bellows.
The temp fix was to take off the boot, clean the cracked areas, apply RTV
sealeant, and let cure overnight. This fix lasted for couple of years.
The permanent fix was a good looking, crackless boot from a junkyard. I got
mine from Shokan(http://800allaudi.com/), its a mail order junkyard in NY
state. They only deal with Audis. I think the boot cost me $35.
