Why I Drive an Audi

I spent over a year to find my current Audi, a pearl white 89 200TQ. I've now had it for over 2 years and have all intentions of keeping it quite a while longer. So, whenever anything breaks, I tend to rebuild everything. 6 weeks ago I was changing the timing belt and spun the cam gear over bending a valve. Off came the head for a full rebuild. I just finished putting it back together yesterday. I drove it around for about 15 minutes noticing how wonderful the engine was running. Very smooth. The 6 month old suspension was holding the road just right. Not a single rattle in the car, and not because I've fixed them. Yes, if I ignore the bouncing speedometer, everything was perfect. Till I noticed the voltmeter was sitting at 11.5V. The alternator had failed.
Those 15 minutes are the reason why I drive an Audi and not a boring GM or Ford. In addition, thanks to this list and my own experience, I can nearly fix anything on my Audi myself. Between Carlsen and Blau, prices for parts really aren't that bad.
If I could change anything on my Audi, the answer is really simple. Avant and 20V engine. Otherwise I'll stick with what I've got.
OTOH, a new Audi I want and think Audi should make is a S4 coupe. Remember the new convertable that was recently mentioned on the list? Make that a coupe with 2.7T and a 6 spd. That's what I want.
