Weird Turbo/Intercooler/Engine Noise's all of

No matter how you look at it, it sounds like an induction system leak
...
have you noticed a drop in boost pressure and a drop in the cars
performance???
when you say WOT .... are you indicating that the WOT switch on the
throttle body is engaged or that your foot is all the way down? You
probably don't
hear it in 1st because by the time you give it WOT, it's usually time to
shift.
2nd and 3rd take a little longer the get to wind out but by the time you
are in
the top gears, road noise is probably drowning out the noise you
mentioned.
Chances are that the noise happens in all gears, you just can't filter
it out with
your ears. You probably only hear the noise under load, reving the
engine in
place probably doesn't reproduce it ... all the more evidence pointing
to pressure
/vacuum system leaks.
Check all your hoses including the smallest ones on both the vacuum as
well
as the pressure side of the system. Given the heat under the hood of any
turbo,
hose materials deteriorate very quickly...especially in hot climates.
Sometimes, noises that you describe can come from the air cleaner box(if
something
is loose).
Thats a high level view of the problem. Someone who has owned or worked
on this car may have some more specific solutions.
