Huw and all,
The charts show only about 100lb difference, and the 80 has apparently a
slightly tighter turning radius. So, can I infer that the 80 has better
drivability as well as being as or even more "thrashable" as the 4000? I've
really not driven one. Well, I did have a 20V Quattro Coupe sometime back.
So far the 80's looks to me are somewhat benign, and for some reason don't
appeal to me as much.
I'm just trying to weigh my options, as I have several 4000's in mind, and
an 80.
Plus I aomehow managed to have an 80 parts car "dumped" into what is
becoming my private junqueyard. My wife will love that.
Perhaps all of this plus the NG motor will just plug and play into the 80
will sway my decision.
Thought I had this all figured out. Just looking for opinions to help my
decision, or add to my indecision, if it were.
What do I plop this into: http://www.homestead.com/Ben_Swann/NGBuild.html ?
If I new I'd end up with something close to the Quattro Coupe, that would
not be bad at all.
Can an 80 be turned into a 90??????
'scuse my ramblin' please.
Ben
p.s. I just did a errand around town and coincidentally saw this Silver
4000Q. "Sharp car" I said to myself, while accelerating the 5kCSTQW in
traffic to catch up. Oh! a Jamex sticker and a Stebro Exhaust! Hey, that's
my wife! Maybe I should just stay the course and stick the motor in this
one, and go the extra mile and paint it and shove a new interior in it.
Just it already runs damn good.

No, they have a 2 pc manifold, 5-2-1 setup which looks just about as
good, though I have not measured the combined area of those two outlets
versus the 4kq's three yet.
> If not, could I bolt a 4000Q downpipe and manifol in place of the 80Q
setup?
To the head, surely. Whether it will fit in an 80/90Q or not is unknown
to me but probably possible.

use the type 89 (80/90), its more solid, and a nicer car. Unless you
are going for every hp/lb you can get, then use the 4kq, it's lighter!
