ok, here goes...
i got a set of eurolights from a 200TQ in a wrecking yard.. the car was
strange..it had the DOT style wiring - but the factory plugs were the 4 prong
female plastic Euro plug that plugged right into the back of the eurolight,
complete with boots and all. it was like that from the factory...not
spliced, all original.
in other words - imagine the DOT style wiring, but with the Euro female plug
on it.
never seen anything like it..
anyway..
so with this setup, im thinking ..."wow" all i have to do is cut and splice
this DOT/Euro harness onto my existing harness, just snip off the DOT 9004
style female plugs, and solder the DOT style "euro" harness on.. the junked
200TQ was running 55w H3's, and 55w H4's.. ...so if they were running it like
that on that car - with the DOT style wiring, without any relays, then it
must have worked, im thinking.
well, i snipped my 9004 connectors off of my harness, and soldered the (about
a foot) i cut off of the junked 200tq, onto my harness.
plugged it all in, and....whee!!!! everything works, no "bulb out" warning
lite in the autocheck either.
so everything works fine...
but..
the light output STILL SUCKS. the Eurolights with 55w H4's (low beams), and
stock harness, is not any better than the DOT low beams..
the high beams, however, are alot brighter than the DOT high beams. but, i
cant run hi-beams all the time because people flash me.. and also, it feels
like my headlight switch behing the steering wheel is getting hot when i run
the hi-beams.....
so everything works, but the low beam light output is not any better than the
stock DOT's.
if i run the high beams now with the 55w H4's/55wH3's, will it burn out my
headlight switch?
and if i want to upgrade to 80/100w H4's what do i do now, that i've snipped
off the DOT connectors, being that you need them on there to plug into, in
order to use the Blau harness..???
any help would be appreciated
