Well the LT1 has an extra 1.5 liters over the 4.2. Stock the LT1 has about
300hp but can easily (cheaply) be upgraded for much more than that (500+). A
500hp Audi v8 would cost more than most people make in their lifetime. The
biggest thing is, a used 4.2 would cost $8k to buy (I asked Specialized
German recycling a wile back) The LT1 doesn't cost more than a few thousand
for a NEW one. I personally would not use the LT1 though, it is an all iron
engine, I would get the LS1 or the Northstar V8. They are both alluminum and
both of these engines can be had for little money.
Just my oppinion,
Mike
