I'm not sure what kind of police radar is being used where Alexander
lives but the units the CHP use here in California make (all) detectors
essentially worthless AFAIK. The new instant on they use here can get
you coming or going and the signal is only on for such a short duration
of time that by the time you get an alarm alert they already nailed you.
For me the same methods I have always employed (from the era before CHP
was using radar here) seems to work best...be smooth, don't be abusive,
try not to be the fastest car in the bunch (always let some "bait" get
out ahead of you ;-)...) and think lucky thoughts. Oh, and a not-so-fast
looking stealthy old Audi helps bunches (but that is changing with the
increased popularity).
