OK, for all you aspiring go-fasters out there. Last year, I bought
a newer than new Valentine 1, to replace the older V-1 that I have.
The older one is for sale. $160 includes shipping, and includes
a) The V-1 itself, raddar antennas F&R, laser F only.
b) Windshield suction cup holder for the V-1
c) Remote Readout Unit
d) Direct wired power supply
e) Cigarette lighter plug attachment for direct readout unit.
I thought somebody on the list was interested, but since he was a big
winner today in an encounter with a VT trooper, with a big outlay of
money - he hasn't responded on this. Since he hasn't even answered
my last email, it's available to the first taker.
If you want it, send me your mail address and I'll get it on it's way.
Below is some background info on the V-1 system ...

Background info on V-1 system

The "new" V-1 includes laser both front and rear. The "new" remote
readout unit has a little more information and it has a mute button.
Pricing of stuff. Any V-1s with laser have always been $399. Some of
the early units were radar only at $329 but since they were only about
5% of sales those were discontinued. The remote readout units have
always been $39. I don't know the price of the direct wired power
supplies, I think $29 or so.
The way a V-1 works, is that things are connected together with normal
4 wire telephone cords (with a RJ-11 on each end). You hook the V-1
to the "power supply" with a phone cord, and if you have a remote readout
{or a remote sound unit (which I do not have)} you hook either of those
to another RJ-11 socket in the power supply. The "power supply" can
be a cigarette lighter plug, it can be a unit that you wire directly into
the car's wiring, or it can be a gizmo that plugs into a lighter socket and
the remote readout snaps directly onto it. The first two have 2 RJ-11
sockets, and the last powers the remote directly and you then hook the remote
to the V-1 via the RJ-11 socket in the remote.
Going through my pile of V-1 stuff, here's what I found. I have the
gizmo for the lighter plug that snaps onto the remote display unit.
You'll see what I mean when you see it. The remote readout has a back
that snaps off and you snap this gizmo on in it's place.
So, I'll give that to you and also a direct wire power supply. I have one
remote readout unit, the V-1 itself, and a windshield suction cup attachment.
You will probably want to order a cigarette lighter plug and an attachment
to hook the V-1 onto a sun visor. I didn't ask the prices of those parts.
What I've done is direct wire a power supply into each car and one of the
motorcycles. That way I can put the remote readout right in front of me
in the dash and put the V-1 sort of out of sight on a sun visor.
