I actually got a good chuckle from the clerk at the San Francisco Hall of
Justice when I mentioned the misspelling of my last name as a reason to
dismiss.

Where I'm from (California), the judge would laugh at you if you brought up
the misspelling thing.  The court will look to see if the other information
on the ticket is substantially correct and go from there.  If the time, the
location, conditions, and the law cited are all correct, and the information
provided by you is substantially correct in its rendering, the court is
gonna do its number on you.  Good luck, John
