I hope someone out these can help me with a problem I have been trying
to chase down. When the temperature is over 80 degrees Fahrenheit, my
1988 80q with the 2.3 liter 5 cylinder motor, misses and bucks like
crazy (especially over 2500 rpm, which is all the time with this car).
This only happens when the ambient temperature outside is over 80
degrees. The car can idle for a long time when it is 70 or less degrees
outside, and high underhood temperatures do not seem to aggravate this
condition. The car has good plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I have
substituted another good ignition coil to prove this is not the problem.
It definitely feels like an ignition related problem, not fuel. Does
anyone have any idea's related to this problem? Please reply directly
to blarson at zeiss.com, as I am on the digest only.
Thanks,
Brian
