I think you want to be careful about pushing the brake pedal down.  If the 
pedal travel pushes the MC piston beyond it normal range of travel inside 
its cylinder, it may reach spots where corrosion in the cylinder walls can 
tear up the seals.  Then you're looking at a new MC.
