In my experience, the drive train and engine are bullet-proof and the thing
that gives away the age/miles of the car is the body work and interior -
seats, pedals, clunks from worn rubber bushes in the suspension etc. My
local dismantler doesn't bother keeping the I5 engines from scrap cars any
more. The engines nearly always outlast the cars. My 80q (UK version of a
4KcsQ) has nearly 200k miles on it and the drive train is still fine - I've
replaced a couple of CV joints after the boots split and replaced all the
rubber suspension bits. The engine smokes a bit on start up, but what do
you expect for a car of that age with 10K oil changes. I think new valve
seals would sort that out.

Get a second opinion!
