Wheel cleaner

To give you an idea of how badly this stuff is welded to the wheel, P21S had
no effect, in gel or liquid form! I am now sure this is my own fault. I
tried to detail the wheel dry, first with P21S and then with a spray wax.
The heat of the engine must have augmented the already warm wheels, and
baked on the cleaner before I could remove all the dust.
Dust+cleaner=welded dust.

So far I am having some success with an acid cleaner from Castrol and
rubbing compound. Its slow work, but now is only required on 2 wheels.
There was insufficient heat on the rear wheels to have the same permanent
effect.

Many thanks for the advice, though.

Colin

Colin -

I recommend P21S Wheel cleaner (from Germany).

It works like magic and dissolves brake gunk with the simple light
wipe of a sponge, and more important - does not harm your wheels.

I've usually purchased it thru the Herrington's catalog - but a search
on Google will turn up other places to buy it.
