Are you using the correct metric belt?  Look for a belt made by Continental
with proper metric sizing spec (in cm x mm rather than in inches).  The
pulley groove angle is wrong for 'murican belts.  Otherwise, maybe the
pulleys are not aligned correctly (worn alternator mount bushing).

Metric belts can be found at shops that specialize in European cars.
