Overheard at the dealers (newer models)

    While at the dealers yesterday a bloke came in to collect his '96 A4
1.8. They had checked out his broken HVAC and told him that there was an ECU
that needed replaceing , they quoted him over £500 to do it.

    I got talking to him and he said he had a friend with a 2.7 biturbo
which had a bizarre problem with very cold starts which could only be fixed
at a cost of around £2500.

    Later on the chap that was serving me pointed at a pair of discs and
said "look at them they're over £500 for the two" I think they may have been
for an S2 or something. He then went on with a few other horror stories
which I can;t now remember. I walked out of there vowing to keep hold of my
type $$ for as long as I can...
