Headlight washers (update)

Even though I was sure the motor was toast, I wanted to test the headlight
washers and hoses for obstructions, as some of you suggested. I also wanted
to figure out how to replace the motor. I don't have my manual yet, so this
is probably all in there, but here are some tips on this issue:
1. Easy way to drain the washer fluid-behind the left lower grill is a
quick-disconnect for the washer hoses, I guess to facilitate bumper removal.
Remove the clip and pull the fitting apart. The hose will reach far enough
to get it into a clean container so you can reuse the washer fluid.
2. If the fluid drains easily, then that hose must be OK. To test the
remaining hoses and washers, I set my compressor for 20 psi (as low as I
could get it and used a blower attachment to blow some air into the washer
hoses. The washers popped right up (you guys are right, they are reminiscent
of R2D2 :-)
3. To get the motor out remove the electrical connector and pull, it
comes right out of the gasketed hole in the fluid reservoir. Drain as above
first, of course.
So, anyone got an extra headlight washer motor? :-)

Scott

P.S. Don't forget that the (originally military terms) SNAFU, TARFU (the
little known "things are really f***ed up") and FUBAR represent an important
hierarchy of Murphy induced pain. Use them wisely and properly!
