3" exhaust muffler question...

Hi!

I still plan on doing the 3" exhaust on the Audi 200 I have. However, I
don't want boomy resonance and I saw on the recent 3" discussion that
using a dual pipe muffler resonator at the back will help tame things.
So, what do I go for? The mufflers I am looking at have a 2" to 2.25"
stepped inlet. Can I use those and feed them both off a 3" pipe and help
cut the boom? :) I reckon spliting the 3" to feed 2 2" should be
alright, no?
