If you're talking about the CIS-E or CIS-E3 cars from the mid 80s to
1991 or so, there is just about zero benefit to "chipping" because
the injection is mechanical. The ECU does tailor the fuel mixture a bit
based on OXS input and other sensors, but there is precious little
that can be done in the ECU to extract more performance. The ignition
system on most of these cars are on a separate ECU and here again,
aside from knock sensor input, there is little to be tweaked in there.
You can simply manually advance the ignition timing a little by readjusting
the distributor and perhaps gain a few horses, nothing more.
