new steering vibration

I just got the tires rotated on my 86 5kcstq, and on the way home i noticed
that there is a slight back and forth (through the steering wheel) vibration
that was not there before. I have reason to believe this is because of
having them rotated, i have also read in the archives that audi doesn't want
people to rotate the tires after a certain point in their mileage, so, my
question is, should i have them rotated back? or will they "wear" into their
new positions.
