Sure, I agree, its not _optimal_, but then again, the new direct injection
system is more optimal than the current versions of Motronic.  My goal
initially was to create a fuel system that performed at least as well as CIS,
but was tuneable too.  Fortuantely, EFI performs much better than CIS, and
the programmabilty takes the fuel system out of the list of limitations in
the drivetrain for increasing power to the level of x.

I definitely agree with you here, as per my earlier posts.  Proper base
settings are critically important, no matter what system is being used.
