A6 Timing, Water Pump, etc Change

Great question--mechanics' rates vary greatly.
I got what I thought was a great deal (for L.A. anyway...) which was all
belts, h2o pump, synth oil, fr. brake pads, extra labor for getting a nasty
pulley off & cc system figured out; all for $500. Keep in mind, there are
only 2, yes 2, "audi mechanics" in all of L.A., the city w/the most cars in
the US. So I feel fortunate, um, kinda. Repeat after me: it's December and
75 degrees...
Yes, do it yer selfers are snickering, but hey, Bozo here drops the toolbox
at anything beyond bicycles and toasters. (and now bikes w/those friggin'
hyd. disk brakes, shocks, electric derailleurs, Calgon take me away!)
