Thanks for the suggestions on how to get the broken pin out. Looking back,
I gave up on it too quickly. Shame on me! I'm gonna get that sucker out
and put the pin in the correct place!

Or, weld a small nut to the pin from inside the threads and turn it out. I
can think of 3 or 4 ways that pin could have been removed before it was
ground flush...
