Auto Transmission fluid

Hi,

I am trying to find out wether it is O.K. to use
Dexron 3 automatic fluid in Audi A6 2.8 Quattro 1999.
I am subscribed to Alldata Technical bulletins.
Alldata has fluids chart that shows to use Dexron 2/3
or WVATF G052 162 A2.  Basically the latter is ESSO LT
71141 type fluid.  I called dealer service dept. to
find out, but they don't know whether it is O.K to use
DEXRON3.  So I thought maybe there is someone on the
list that is more knowledgeable.  If anyone has an
answer or a way to get an answer, please let me know.
